Happy Birth Day Tylan!

Monday, September 5th, 2011
I was anxious all day long waiting for Rich to call and tell me it was time to take the drive to Flower Mound. Thank goodness I got the call BEFORE rush-hour. As I was driving I could see a line of cars form behind me. I arrived at the hospital to find Ashley already at 9 1/2 cm. The baby was in a little distress so they had to put her on her knees to relieve some of the pressure. The nurses informed her that a C-section might be in order which put Ashley in distress. After about 30 minutes they allowed Ashley to turn over and give a couple of pushes. The baby was doing better but a C-section was still possible. The nurses quickly called the Dr. to let her know that Ashley was ready to go and the baby needed to get out. It only took about 15 minutes for the Dr. to get to the room and to get Ashley prepped to push and deliver her baby. I settled into the background and got as many images as I could from my angle. I think Ashley pushed a total of 7 times before Tylan joined us in the room. As tears fell from my eyes I could see the relief on Ashley’s face. I think Rich was still in shock! The nurses immediately put Tylan on Ashley’s belly and from then on there was nothing but smiles! This was, other than the birth of my own boys, the most AMAZING experience!!! Ashley, you are so strong and probably the ONLY mom that can cut-up and tell jokes inbetween pushes. Thank you so much for one of the best experiences of my life! Congrats and Love!

Ashley and Rich’s Maternity Session 1 day BEFORE!

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

I am so happy with how Ashley and Rich’s maternity session turned out depsite the rushed scramble to get to the park before sunset. They had to driv in from Grapevine and the traffic was TERRIBLE! It took them almost an hour longer than expected. Needless to say, we did not make it to our original location but as I was driving them to a different park that I have used a number of times I remembered a CUTE and very small park really close. We pulled in there and managed to capture about 15 minutes of fabulous images before the sun set. We even got some after! ūüôā

Yadira’s Quincea√Īera

Friday, August 12th, 2011

Norma called me last month to inquire about photographing Yadira’s Quincea√Īera at the Pioneer Event Center in Grand Prairie. I was so excited to hear from her especially since I had just finished Jazmine’s party a couple of weeks before, which was held at the same location. When I arrived I immediately found the beautiful birthday girl in her gown surrounded by tons of well-dressed teens. Soon after I was able to locate Norma, also dressed in gorgeous evening attire. We quickly¬†discussed the plans for the evening and I got set up and ready to shoot. My part of the night began with¬†candid shots of the¬†guests.¬†For the most part, I find that guests either pose and¬†want to get their picture taken or they¬†cover their face and “shoo” me away.¬†After¬†about 30¬†minutes¬†Yadira danced with her brother and then her father.¬†It became very emotional as Yadira teared up while dancing with her father and then was comforted by her mother as she wiped away tears. But¬†those tears were nothing in comparision to the ones that came as Norma and her sister¬†spoke about¬†Yadira. Norma even brought a card which I believe was made by Yadira when she was younger. Norma’s¬†voice cracked as she read from the card and at times had to pause to catch her breath. It was touching to watch their emotions.¬†Afterward the tears dried up quickly as the dancing began. Everyone took to the floor… even Grandma!¬†It was a wonderful party… I hope you had a great night Yadira! Happy Birthday!!!

Sweet baby G is 1!!!

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Baby Girl G was just as sweet at her 1st birthday session as she was at her very first. She was so cute as she demolished her birthday cake. But my favorite part of the session was right after she pulled the bow out of her¬†hair and looked up with icing in her hair. All I remember is the unison, “AWWWE….” Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Miss J’s Party!!

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

The Pioneer Event Center was CRAZY a few weekends ago and Miss J celebrated her 16th birthday. Everyone was dressed in their best and partying hard! I’ve never attended a Quincea√Īera so I was extremely excited to get to photograph this one. I had NO idea how much fun it was going to be. They even had live performances, one of which was by a local dance troupe. Very awesome time!
