“B” Family Session

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

I met this beautiful family in Highland Park for a gorgeous afternoon session. I was so excited when Nancy contacted me and asked if I would photograph the dogs with her family. Of course!!! I have 2 dogs of my own and I love animals. A family portrait isn’t of the family unless everyone is in it! 🙂 It was such a pleasure meeting the family and it turns out that we know several of the same people!

This one is my ALL time favorite family image. They look like they should be on the cover of a clothing magazine!

The youngest daughter asked for this image! Girls and teddy bears… timeless!

As we walked away from the teddy bears I asked the girls to quickly pose in this spot. Now look serious… GOT IT! They are GORGEOUS!

I was able to catch just a little sun ray streaming through the trees. Again, these girls are gorgeous!

Happy Birth Day Tylan!

Monday, September 5th, 2011
I was anxious all day long waiting for Rich to call and tell me it was time to take the drive to Flower Mound. Thank goodness I got the call BEFORE rush-hour. As I was driving I could see a line of cars form behind me. I arrived at the hospital to find Ashley already at 9 1/2 cm. The baby was in a little distress so they had to put her on her knees to relieve some of the pressure. The nurses informed her that a C-section might be in order which put Ashley in distress. After about 30 minutes they allowed Ashley to turn over and give a couple of pushes. The baby was doing better but a C-section was still possible. The nurses quickly called the Dr. to let her know that Ashley was ready to go and the baby needed to get out. It only took about 15 minutes for the Dr. to get to the room and to get Ashley prepped to push and deliver her baby. I settled into the background and got as many images as I could from my angle. I think Ashley pushed a total of 7 times before Tylan joined us in the room. As tears fell from my eyes I could see the relief on Ashley’s face. I think Rich was still in shock! The nurses immediately put Tylan on Ashley’s belly and from then on there was nothing but smiles! This was, other than the birth of my own boys, the most AMAZING experience!!! Ashley, you are so strong and probably the ONLY mom that can cut-up and tell jokes inbetween pushes. Thank you so much for one of the best experiences of my life! Congrats and Love!

Ashley and Rich’s Maternity Session 1 day BEFORE!

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

I am so happy with how Ashley and Rich’s maternity session turned out depsite the rushed scramble to get to the park before sunset. They had to driv in from Grapevine and the traffic was TERRIBLE! It took them almost an hour longer than expected. Needless to say, we did not make it to our original location but as I was driving them to a different park that I have used a number of times I remembered a CUTE and very small park really close. We pulled in there and managed to capture about 15 minutes of fabulous images before the sun set. We even got some after! 🙂
